The Harrison County clerk's office dutifully recorded the births of all citizens, a number of whom went on to positions of national prominence, including Lady Bird Johnson, journalist Bill Moyers, CORE founder James Farmer, and athletes Fred Newhouse and George Foreman, who both won gold models in Olympic track and heavyweight boxing, respectfully.
